THE PERFECT PAIR

What would be great hair without great earrings AND what would be great earrings without great hair? The two are a match made in heaven. They go together like peanut butter and jelly, or ice cream and reality TV.
Below are some of my favorite easy hair styles.

Braided/Twisted Pull Back

Untamed Waves

Messy Bun

Curled to Perfection

Fishtail Braid (Lauren Conrad has a great step by step video)

The Sock Bun (YouTube a tutorial if you haven't already)

I'm always inspired to make earrings because they truly bring your hair and even your make up to life.

FASHION FEARS

Let's face it, we all have them - Some inner obstacle telling your brain, "You shouldn't be wearing that...you can't pull it off....it doesn't look right on you, etc." I know girls who think they look terrible with their hair up in a ponytail, don't have the legs for skinny jeans, are too tall in heels, don't have the right proportions for high wasted skirts, and the list goes on and on. First and foremost, we are all too critical of ourselves. Secondly, how boring would clothing be if we never tried something new or stepped outside our comfort zone?

I too am a victim of this crime. My fashion fear: Hot Pink. Oddly enough,  I LOVE it on others (and admire it on others) but I never feel it looks right on me.

In order to practice what I preach, I decided to take a baby step towards the world of hot pink. What better than a hot pinkish red accessory matched with a hot pink top?

FASHION FAVORITES

I am constantly creating new pieces of jewelry every single week. Regardless of how many pieces I sell, I always keep the original for myself (for reference) -  So as you can imagine, my personal jewelry collection has really multiplied in the last year (no complaints here). I put a lot of love, care and creativity into every single piece I make and once in a while I create a "favorite piece." I recently created a necklace that for me is a personal favorite. I thought it appropriate I dedicate this post to all of my personally owned fashion favorites.

SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING BLUE-ISH PURPLE

I had the recent honor of making custom bridesmaid gifts for a dear friend’s wedding. I was overjoyed and elated to be contributing to such a special occasion. The bride to be told me her wedding colors and right away I knew the perfect stone. I selected a bluish/purple stone called “Blue Lace Agate” to make long pendant necklaces for her closest friends.  I was thrilled by her choice of color, since I too have been favoring this lavender hue. Below are some of my favorite celebrities, looking great in shades of lavender.

The bride requested that each necklace be ever so slightly different, making each piece unique. The vibrancy of the stone brings such a wonderful pop of color. The necklaces are so feminine but the sharp angles of the stone make it a bit edgy. Here are two of the necklaces I made for the wedding:

(34 inch 14k gold filled chain. Gold non-tarnish wire. 16k gold charm. Blue Lace Agate Stone)

I wish all the best to the bridesmaids and of course the beautiful bride herself!

THE GIVING BRACELET

I think I speak for most females when I say that we just love "wrap" fashion. We seem to have an affinity for strappy/wrappy shoes, scarves, sweaters and headbands to name a few. For me, it's the texture, dimension and look of layering that draws me in. Case in point: The wrap bracelet.

The wrap itself reminds me of a hug or an embrace which got me thinking about my amazing grandmother. She was the true definition of elegance, trend and style (among many other things). She LOVED jewelry, so I thought it appropriate that I tribute a piece of my work to her.

This month would have marked her 77th birthday - with that in mind, I will be donating a percentage of every wrap bracelet sold in the month of February towards the American Cancer Society, in her honor. To be able able to make a donation and shop at the same time is quite the pair, and something I think she would have enjoyed herself.
